Memory Screening
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is a brief screening tool used to identify possible changes in memory, thinking, language, attention, and problem-solving abilities. The assessment takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and can help identify early signs of cognitive impairment that may benefit from further evaluation.
The MoCA is not a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease, but it can provide valuable information on individuals, families, and healthcare providers when memory concerns arise. Early identification allows for earlier intervention, education, support, and planning.
Confidential memory screenings are available by appointment through Alzheimer’s Family Services of Greater Beaufort. There is no fee for this service.
